My name is Long John Nguyen and I am looking to acquire a successful business in Southern California where I can apply my strengths as a leader to continue the legacy of the founder of said business. I formed Phoenix Sky Capital to be the vehicle used to perform the search.

I bring my own capital, SBA funding, and may also bring in outside investors, depending on the size of the business, but will always maintain control. I plan to buy, own, and operate the business until I am ready to retire.

I am an honest American looking to buy an American business. I was born in California to immigrant parents, and as a teenager, worked my first job for the family business (Optometry practice) taking out the trash and filing papers. I was a first-generation college student and graduated with a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from UC Irvine, and an MBA from Berkeley Haas. In 2016, I started a business with partners to provide team building experiences which we still own and operate to this day, and have grown to over 20 employees and 2 locations.

I lead by example, and have a willingness to learn from my team.  I have 10 years of experience leading folks at wonderful companies such as Kite Pharma, a Gilead company in Los Angeles. My operations skills have enabled me to launch multiple new spinal and heart implants, as well as bring millions of dollars per year in revenue and savings to the company. I have successfully led teams up to 25 staff in size. I have been successful primarily by motivating and inspiring my staff to do good work, and then being honest with the results even when they weren’t what we wanted.

I am a persistent problem solver which will enable me to adapt as necessary to sustainably grow the business.

I am devoting full time to the search for the right company. My wife and family are fully behind me, and excited for this opportunity to help the great American economy.
